Does it ever get light anymore?? I was up and out of the house early today for a 7am estate sale. It looked/sounded really good so I got there extra early! I wanted to make sure I was first in line. I was…then waited there hoping they would open early. But it doesn’t ever seem to get light! It was a few minutes until 7am when the sun finally came up and they opened right at 7am. They probably would have been open at 6…but it was dark (stupid time change! I want PST back!). Thankfully there wasn’t to many people there. I guess the other salers also follow the sun…?? I went in the front door as opposed to the garage they opened both at the same time. And it was a wise move as I scored a bunch of Fenton cranberry opalescent. But oddly they didn’t have much else. That’s okay…I’m happy with the Fenton. I raced out of there (lucky I didn’t get a speeding ticket) and on to the next sale (scheduled for 8am).
I was at the next sale by 7:30 and they opened the front door just as I walked up. I was about the 4th person in and everyone broke off in directions…I went toward the dining room for nothing but saw they had a screened in patio where all the glass seemed to be! I walked out and score! Seems they had good taste in milk glass! And even a few pieces of depression glass for good measure. Everything seemed to be in the back yard except the furniture. So luck was with me at those 2 sales!
From there I went around to garage sales. I didn’t pick up a whole lot at those. But I still managed to find a few goodies. I ended up calling it a day right about noon. The weather was nice…cool in the morning and its 89 out right now. I saw a good number of sales today. More then I see on a lot of summer days! I think the “good” yardsale season is upon us! Or at least I hope it is!!
Picture #1
a bent wood rocker $10 It looked cool and was cheap enough! It should be worth more then that right?
Vintage(ish?) snow shoes $5 for the pair. Make for good decorator items
picture #2
split bamboo fly rod $2 I’ll add it to my not a collection…meaning I can’t bring myself to sell any of them. But I maintain I don’t collect the rods!
Mayfair cookie jar $3 Not bad…its in good shape!
candlewick butter and plate $3 I think its a butter its to small for anything else…
Fenton basket $1 Flea market
Northwood open opal mint compote $2 Nice good flea item
Pink Adam cake plate $3 nice depression glass…
Picture #3
Fenton hobnail basket $5 Nice basket. Its the large size and they seem to do well at the flea.
Fenton hobnail student lamp $10 Shown with the wrong shade/globe. I have the correct shade. But I put the wrong one on in this picture. The shade should be the lower thicker one. But its a nice lamp at a good price!
Fenton cranberry opalescent cruet, small vase, and large vase $10 Nice little collection of Fenton items. That cranberry sells good!
Fenton Milk Glass Epergne $5 Its the larger size one. The plain ones don’t sell super good but still it is what it is…
Fenton Cranberry opalescent 3 light pole lamp $15 All the cranberry was at the first sale. I found the cruet and the 2 vases in the kitchen…went into the bedroom and found the student lamp. So I stuffed the small vase and the cruet into my pockets and grad the lamp. Went back out and was told they have the large lamp just like that in the other room. So I went back and found it. They had it all boxed up. That was one heck of a sale! The pole lamp is shown with the correct globes…its tough when you find 4 pieces that look the same to keep them all straight
Well, that was my day. I didn’t get a massive amount of stuff. But I did get a lot of nice quality items!
