My yardsale adventure started Friday night this week. I got a call from a scout (friend) of mine about a huge community/area/cities/everyplace you look sale/sales. So I threw some stuff in an overnight bag and off I went. At first I thought it wasn’t my best idea…I left way to late on a holiday weekend Friday and spent some time in traffic…got up there and got a newspaper and tried to get some sleep. Sleep didn’t go to well. So I was up and out a bit early…to early…darkness kinda keeps the sellers in. But as the sun came up I started to find a ton of sales…and I kept hitting one sale after the other until I finally threw in the towel around 1pm…the sales were still happening. But I had a drive in front of me plush tickets to see Colin mochrie and brad Sherwood that night (last night). That show was great…bare feet blindfolds mouse traps and all! Anyway when I got home from yardsdales I was very tired and just took the boxes in and decided to post tomorrow (today).

Here is the start of the depression glass. I just about died getting it all down to my truck. I stopped at a house with a golden view. He had carport down below and the house was up the stairs…about 3 flights of stairs and a steep dirt path above the carport/road (it went stairs…path…more stairs). It was an older gentleman selling it all. His wife had collected it “way back.” He was selling his house because he said he couldn’t get down the stairs anymore and I really believe him. The sale was set up on his patio. Now I didn’t think I was that out of shape. But after packing all the glass and taking a million trips down to the truck ( 8…one was to get wrapping paper) and going back up…I felt like I was going to die…it was almost 90 out…and I was at a 7k foot altitude so it was hard to get my wind after the 3rd trip! The seller was really sorry he couldn’t help me…but you couldn’t expect him too. Plus he liked me and charged me $200 for all the depression glass I got!
